Albuquerque 2018

Sunday Evening March 4, 2018

Our Airbnb in Albuquerque was a real treat.  The host, an architect, obviously had fun designing this artistic, well appointed, old town adobe. With a fenced yard and courtyard providing privacy, it had 2 levels, tastefully decorated, located within a few blocks of old town and the interstate.  Our host stopped by shortly after we arrived to see if we needed anything.  A welcoming bottle of wine was on the table.

Once we unpacked, we took a short walk to explore Olde Town - the original center of town.  While interesting, it was filled with galleries and tourist shops, most of which were closed - interesting, but further exploration was low on our priority list.

On the Sunday night weather report, the dew point was reported as minus number - I hadn't realized that was possible! Humidity has been less than 10%, and with the strong winds, a small wildfire broke out south of Albuquerque.  It was fortunate that the wind switched as the front passed through, causing the fire to burn back on itself.
